Brooks’ birth story is a special one that took place in Santa Clarita.It was probably one of the hottest days we had in Los Angeles this summer; yet baby Brooks decided it was the perfect day for him to make an appearance. His mama Kameron had called me around sunrise to let me know she was in labor; but since she was still at home, we agreed she would let me know once she and her partner Brad would head to the Birth Center. Around 7 am, Brad called me to say it was time for me to join them, so I hopped in the car and drove to Pure Birth Birth Center.
When I arrived, I found mama Kameron in the birth tub. Papa Brad and midwife Tiffany were by her side. Kameron looked so peaceful and relaxed. Everyone gently reminding her that Brooks birth story was unfolding perfectly, just as it was meant to.
At each wave of labor, she seemed to ride the birth in perfect tune with her baby and body.Not too long after, Kameron started pushing and withing 3 pushes baby Brooks was in her arms. We all really thought it was going to be a baby girl, but there arrived Brooks!
He needed a little help with oxygen at the beginning, but Tiffany and her assistant managed to help him right on the spot and right in his mama’s arms.
After a few cuddles and greetings, Kameron and Brooks moved to the bed where they snuggled with Brad and Kameron birthed the placenta.
It was all so peaceful: the midwives worked quickly and through, while Brad ordered lunch to replenish Kameron after her amazing and hard work. After the newborn assessment and first day of life instructions, the new family of three was sent off to go home. Brad had to run the car a few minutes before walking Kameron and Brooks to it because it was so hot!
And this is how Brooks birth story unfolded…Birth is always so magical and each birth story has always something so unique that fits perfectly in its unfolding.
